Gooey Cinnamon Rolls

Once upon a time, Costco sold a box of 6 cinnamon rolls that were just drenched in frosting. I've never been too fond of sweet foods (I mean, I'll eat them, I'll eat ANYTHING), but I had a soft spot for those cinnamon rolls, with the cream cheese frosting that made your eyes roll back into your head.

They stopped making them years ago, probably because they don't go through your digestive system, they just clog it up. After a while, I forgot that they ever existed.

When I went to San Antonio in January and brought home the giant cinnamon roll, I remembered the lovely Costco ones, and lamented that they weren't available anymore. The giant cinnamon roll was ok, but it's popular for it's size more than for it's quality. The Costco rolls are what sweet food must be like in Heaven.

A few weeks ago I was buying diapers, baby formula, and milk at the Orem Costco. I noticed a circular tin of 9 cinnamon rolls that looked somewhat familiar. I passed on them to go and do the rest of my shopping. When I was waiting in line to checkout, an employee walked by announcing a new bakery item, gooey cinnamon rolls, and he was holding a few tins that had just come out of the oven and were still warm. I figured I was destined to take them home.

They were amazing. Just as good as I remembered them. Maybe even better.

If you're lucky, they're at a Costco near you.
